10 Jun 1790 was probably a private baptism as the register contains a second entry on 28 Nov 1790 which was presumably when she was received in church. Willis, Elizabeth (I1959)

15 or 16 December, off the coast of Ireland. Arundel, John Baron Arundel (I4587)

1939 register says 22 Sep 1881, but the birth registration is Q4 1879. He appears on the 1881 census where his age is seemingly given as 16 months. The man on the 1939 register appears to be living in the same that Henry and his mother were in 1891. Whitfield, Henry Charles (I1255)

20 Fri VI = 10 Dec 1797 Luce, Louise (I2049)

William Rickman of Marchwood mentions a brother named Robert in his will. This may be him, though William was probably rather older. William's eldest child was born in about 1559, so he was likely born in the 1530s. Robert married in 1577 so was probably born in the 1550s. Rickman, Robert (I1565)

Thomas Peter's father is given as Peter on his marriage and he said he was from Grouville. On the 1841 census he is living with Pierre and Marie, who are too old to be his parents. However their son Pierre is the right age. Family F556

Robert (b c1822) and Elizabeth (b c1798) may well be children of this marriage too. Robert was living with William in 1841, and Elizabeth is almost certainly Robert's sister. Family F859

Elizabeth Munday may well be a child of this marriage too as her marriage was witnessed by Grace and John. Only the two sons, John and Joseph, are mentioned in John's will. Family F909

Grandad remembered John "Jack" Maidment, and said he died in World War One. A John Alfred Maidment did die in the War, but he was the son of Charles & Alice Maidment, of 17 Ringwood Rd, Totton, and too young to be this man. Maidment, John Richard (I4175)

Grandad remembered the Maidment children, Arthur and Jack, and Arthur's son Walter. He knew they were relatives of his mother, but didn't know how: his guess was that they were cousins of his mother. As Jane had died and James remarried, and as the children were 20+ years older than Grandad, this perhaps explains that. Barfoot, Jane (I4165)

John Martell may be a child of this marriage too. Family F1266

A marriage this early is necessary in order for their son William to be an adult in 1666 to act as executor for his uncle, John Bull. Family F955

A Miss Lillian Croutear married a Harry Wilkinson in California in 1925, but this Lillian seems only to have been aged 26. It is unclear how she fits into things. Croutear, Lillian S (I2311)

A professional musician like his father. Living in St Helier, Jersey on the 1881 census, Chorlton-on-Medlock in Manchester on the 1891 census, Ipswich on the 1901 census, and Rhondda, Glamorgan on the 1911 census. Possibly he is the man who died on 7 Jan 1938 in Barrow-in-Furness, aged 60, making a Beatrice Lilian Benson (wife of Francis Henry Benson) his executor. Cronin, William Edward (I1019)

A second baptism is recorded on 1 Sep 1833, also at Beaulieu; this is too close to Charles' baptism to be another child, and a 10-year-old Ann is on the 1841 census with James and Hannah. Thomas, Ann Elizabeth (I3131)

A stone mason. Listed as deaf on 1851 census, as was his eldest daughter, Elizabeth. Fallaize, Jean (I5865)

a widow Metier, Phyllis (I3927)

A William Whitfield, an infant, was buried at Exbury on 29 Jan 1832. If it wasn't George and Elizabeth's son, it's hard to see who it was. However if George & Elizabeth's son died in 1832, who married Mary Ann Munday? The marriage register says that William was aged 23 and from Exbury, an that his father's name was George. Also, on the 1871 census William and Mary Ann are living with William's mother Elizabeth, born 1792, which matches George's wife's age in 1851. So who was the infant who died? Could George and Elizabeth have had a son who died in 1832 and another son of the same name a year or two later who married Mary Ann Munday? This would explain why William always gave an age more consistent with a 1834 birth. There was another William born in 1834, the son of William and Mary, but we know he married Ann Carpenter. Another William born in about 1840 was the son of George and Fanny, but he would be six years younger than the marriage record says when he married Mary Ann Munday in 1857, and it doesn't explain his mother Elizabeth on the 1871 census. Whitfield, William (I1241)

According to a note in the Priaulx Library's file of internal research into the Fallaize family, this Nicolas was bp 14 Mar 1790 in St Martin's, Guernsey, the son of William Fallaize of St Martin, Guernsey and Anne Roissier of St Helier. William and Anne did have a son of that name, baptised on that date in St Helier. However the Nicolas who married Sarah Robertson was from St Pierre du Bois. The 1841 census shows two boys, John and Peter, living with Nicolas and Sarah. John matches the baptism of Nicolas and Barbara's son. Barbara died five years before Nicolas married Sarah, so it's plausible it is the same man marrying twice. Moreover, Nicholas and Barbara's daughter Fanny had Fanny Joslin as her godmother. If Nicolas was the child of Pierre and Marie née Jehan from St Pierre du Bois, Fanny Joslin would have been his sister-in-law. This all suggests Nicolas was from St Pierre du Bois and married twice. However, the fact that there was a second Nicolas Fallaize on Jersey, and we cannot otherwise account for him – there is no burial or other marriage, for instance – is a complication. Fallaize, Nicolas (I4990)

According to John Scheu's marriage certificate, John's father was a cooper (barrel maker) named Henry Scheu. This is the only known reference to Henry. John was born in an unspecified part of Germany and probably came to England in the late 1860s or early 1870s, but there is no evidence that Henry emigrated to England: probably lived and died in Germany, in which case he was presumably called Heinrich, not Henry. Scheu, Heinrich (I416)

According to the 1911 census, John & Gertrude had two more children who died young. Scheu, Gertrude (I394)

After her mother married Joseph Perry, Josephine appears to have adopted the surname Perry. Cronin, Josephine Dorey (I1054)

Age 27 in 1815 Fallaize, Jean (I5001)

Alias Goffe. Thomas, William (I3056)

Alias Goffe. Thomas, Frances (I3172)

Alias Goffe. Thomas, Richard (I3060)

Alias: Charles William King Barfoot, Charles William (I4472)

Alias: Thomas King Barfoot, Eli (I4406)

Almost certain died during the Battle of Langemarck. Hatto, Hubert Harold (I463)

Also appears in the Wilcot register with the parents as "Thomas & Anne of West Stowell". Wootton, Joseph (I5320)

Also in the Lymington register the same day, marked "from Boldre". Bull, Christopher (I2693)

Also Le Breuilly Breuilly, Anne Marie (I2623)

Also two more children who had died before 1911. Family F149

Although Harriet's aged is given as 85 on her burial in 1872, putting her birth in 1786-7, on the 1851 and '61 censuses she's 57 and 69, putting her birth later in 1791-4. These match the 1794 baptism. Scorey, Harriet (I3373)

Although Jesse was said to be 78 when he was buried in 1808, which would put is birth in 1729-30, it seems highly likely that the 1737 baptism in Hambledon, only two parishes away from Droxfield, is his. Most likely his age was simply exaggerated. His wife was born in 1740, and a 1730 birth would make him 31 when he married – not implausible, but quite old. We cannot otherwise account for the child born in Hambledon. Hellyer, Jesse (I4683)
