    • Grandad remembered the Maidment children, Arthur and Jack, and Arthur's son Walter. He knew they were relatives of his mother, but didn't know how: his guess was that they were cousins of his mother. As Jane had died and James remarried, and as the children were 20+ years older than Grandad, this perhaps explains that.
