| of Woodgreen | Coles, Mary (I3519)
| On 1851 census, living with parents, unmarried and deaf. | Fallaize, Elizabeth (I5867)
| On HMS Queen Mary in the Battle of Jutland. | Barfoot, Edward Leonard (I4203)
| On the 1841 census Charles and Rachel are living with children named George (1831), Jane (1831), Mary (1833), Harriet (1837) and Emma (1839). Probably they are Charles and Rachel's children. | Family F415
| On the 1841 census he has an 'E' under 'whether born in England, Scotland, Ireland or Foreign Parts', though when he married in St Helier in 1825, he was described as 'de cette paroisse'. | Fallaize, Thomas (I3439)
| On the 1841 census John was living with Ellen Cronin and her three children, Edward, Margaret and Ellen. John is the right age to be an older sibling of them, and as the 1841 census doesn't specify how people are related this was the obvious conclusion. But the baptisms of Edward, Margaret and Ellen (together with that of James who died young) identify their parents as Patrick and Ellen, while John's marriage certificate identifies his father as William. There's no evidence that William came to Jersey: most probably he and John's mother died in Jersey leaving John an orphan who was brought up by a relative. Maybe Patrick and Ellen were John's uncle and aunt. However it's also possible that Ellen was John's mother and married two men named Cronin, quite possibly brothers. | Cronin, John (I1009)
| On the 1841 census, an Edward Willis is living with Willam and Mary Willis. That person is almost certainly not this Edward, and the 1851 and 1861 censuses have two Edward Willis – this man, married to Sarah Nutbeam, and an unmarried man living with a John and Fanny Purse; Fanny Purse was the daughter of William and Mary Willis. | Willis, Edward (I4970)
| On the 1841 census, George is living with his future in-laws, Josias and Mary Rogers. | Thomas, George (I3240)
| On the 1851 census as a son of William and Martha, aged 10; also on the 1841 census, aged 5 months. | Thomas, Charles (I3188)
| On the 1851 census her age is 86, putting her birth in 1765. | Dicey, Martha (I5790)
| On the 1851 census his place of birth is given as Newfoundland. He was lodging with an Edward & Betsey Mourant in Grouville. | Gosselin, Thomas Peter (I2055)
| On the 1851 census, Ann is 8 [b 1842-3]. There are two candidates for her on the 1861 census, one 16 [b 1844-5] and one 20 [b 1840-41]; probably the younger one is the daughter of Richard & Elizabeth. On the marriage of Ann Fry to William George Burgess in 1864 she is 23 [b 1840-41], and her father is given as Thomas. On the 1871 census, she is 30 [b 1840-41], born in Bloxworth. Although there were several Fry families in Bloxworth in the 1840s, it seems Thomas Trim Fry was the only Thomas having children there at the time. There is no suitable birth registration in Wareham district, but it seems possible Ann was a couple of years old when baptised in 1844. | Fry, Ann (I3565)
| On the 1851 census, Susan was in visiting Robert and Mary Callen in Fawley Village. Mary Callen née Pinnick is Susan's cousin, the daughter of Ann Pinnick née Banks. | Banks, Susan (I636)
| On the 1881 census he was lodging in Stranton, Co. Durham, now a surburb of Hartlepool, where he was working as a "professor of music". Three others lodgers in the house were also described as professors of music. His wife and young son were living with his parents back in Jersey. On the 1891 census, he, his wife and son were living in Chorlton-on-Medlock in Manchester. He and his 13-year-old son were both described as musicians. | Cronin, John Peter (I1011)
| on the Hill | Binstead, Peter (I4732)
| One of Thomas's "brother Rychardes ij youngest sonnes" who were left his apparel. | Lovell (I3912)
| One of Thomas's "brother Rychardes ij youngest sonnes" who were left his apparel. | Lovell (I3913)
| Only Elizabeth's mother (Harriet) is named on the baptism entry, but the 1861 census says she was George & Harriet's daughter. Possibly this was a careless omission on the baptism, or possibly she was a granddaughter by their eldest daughter Harriet who was being brought up as a daughter. The GRO index does not give a mother's maiden name, which perhaps points to the latter. | Barfoot, Elizabeth Goldstone (I5699)
| Only Joseph Walsby born at a plausible date. | Walsby, Joseph (I695)
| or 13 Apr. | Bass, Ruth (I4937)
| Or possibly 14 March. The '4' appears to be crossed out, but this might be an inadvertent mark on the paper. | Dew, Thomas (I4107)
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | Private (I741)
| Or Wooden. | Dorey, Rhoda (I5300)
| Or Wootton | Wooden, Mary (I5142)
| Parents are given as Thomas and Ann Thomas. It seems unlikely that the father really was called Thomas Thomas, and there is no evidence such a person existed; more likely, it was James & Ann. | Thomas, Harriet (I3061)
| Parents given as Charles and Eliza Croutear, but there are no other records to such a couple and this time: just a Charles and Edith Croucher and a Charles and Frances Croutear. On the 1851 census, there is a Jane living with Charles and Frances of a suitable age. | Croutear, Frances Jane (I2169)
| parents given as Richard and Sarah née Reeves. | Cheater, Ann (I3812)
| Parents given as Richard and Sarah. | Cheater, Rachel (I3817)
| Parents given as Thomas Fallaize and Marthe Martin. | Fallaize, Thomas (I5872)
| Parish registers confirm this is 1718/19. | Hunt, John (I3294)
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | Family F628
| Philip Benjamin was a widower. | Family F939
| Pierre appears in the Jersey criminal registers on several occasions. On the night of 8 Oct 1797, he and three others were arrested for attacking the guard house at St Lawrence. On 19 Jun 1813, he was arrested for maltreating his wife and their children, and again on 10 Oct 1813 for having beaten and abuse his wife and failed to provide for the subsistence of their children. | Voisin, Pierre Jean (I1214)
| Pierre had first cousins Jacques and Jean Gosselin ("cousins germains dudit epoux"). Jean is possibly Jean François Gosselin, son of Pierre. | Gosselin, Pierre (I2152)
| Pierre's aliens registration card says born 7 June, but has birth certificate says 16 June. | Gosselin, Pierre Marie Jean Baptiste (I2608)
| Place and parentage inferred. | Whitfield, Thomas (I1378)
| Place and parents inferred. | Whitfield, John (I1380)
| Place of birth from 1841 census. | Joslin, Caroline (I2119)
| Possibly also baptised 6 May 1821 at Tilty, Essex. | Bass, Thomas (I4939)
| Possibly Constance died 1929 in the Eastry district of Kent, as that seems to be the only plausible death registration for a Constance A Williams. | Scheu, Constance Amelia (I392)
| Possibly Dorothy is the Daisy Banks whose birth was registered in Q2 1891 in the New Forest district. | Banks, Dorothy Mary Irene (I655)
| Possibly his is the death registered in the New Forest district, Q3 1908, aged 87. If so, his age is considerably exaggerated. | Harding, Charles (I2895)
| Possibly Jean Jacques, as John James on his burial. | Joslin, Jean (I1180)
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | Private (I244)
| Possibly the Emma Thomas living with her grandparents in Eling in 1861 | Thomas, Emily (I3140)
| Possibly the marriage was on 18 Oct 1611 in Ringwood, where the HGS index records a marriage to a John Bonnet. This is not a local surname (and doesn't appear at all in the Hampshire burial records until the 18th century), so perhaps it is a misreading of Bound. | Family F1190
| Possibly this is the marriage on 20 Sep 1726 at Fawley between Richard Willis and Mary Willis. However, if both really had the same surname, this poses a problem as the only Mary of the right age are Richard's sister. | Family F518
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | Private (I245)
| Presented by the father, Thomas Fallaize, Elizabeth Vaudin and Marie Marett. | Fallaize, Jean (I5004)
| presumably a private baptism, as there is second (presumably public) baptism on 7 Nov 1830 | Thomas, Jane (I3208)
