  William and Martha's marriage certificate identifies William's father as another William, but the evidence for his parents being William and Sarah née Powell is circumstantial. William was born in about 1819 and lived in Chilton as an adult. William and Sarah were having children in Chilton at this time and there is a gap between Louisa (b 1817) and Letitia (1823) that William would naturally fit in.
