The closest in the Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière register is a Jules Auguste Medérique Gosselin, born 3 Nov 1848, son of Armand Charles Nicolas Gosselin, a "cultivateur" (farmer). However he died the same year.
Further afield, the Cercle Généalogique de la Manche index lists only one Auguste son of Auguste born 1840–60, but that is in Rauville-la-Place, where a Auguste Jules Désiré Gosselin son of Auguste Gosselin and Aimée Gosselin was born on 22 Dec 1856. [1, 2]
