  • Notes
    • Many online genealogies make Edmond the son of William Bull, either by his known wife Margaret Lyne or by an unidentified earlier wife. None of these genealogies offer any evidence to support this, and only cite other equally ill-sourced online genealogies. Attempts to contact the authors of these genealogies have been unenlightening. However it's entirely possible the original tree did have a good source – maybe a Lyne family will, for example – and this has been lost by subsequent copying.

Edmond's first recorded child was baptised in 1595, and William and Margaret married in 1577, just 18 year's earlier. It is just possible that Edmond was the first child of this marriage, thought it would make him unusually young when he married; it is also possible William had been married before his marriage to Margaret and Edmond was the child of the earlier marriage, but I can find no evidence of an earlier marriage.
